24.09.2008 Alter: 2 Jahre 19.-21.09.2008 - FEC European Championship AC 2008The "Mulliner Sequence" is still alive!
Dear all, Well, another exciting European Championship is over - and the "MullinerSequence" is still alive! Played on what were referred to as "exciting" lawns, Stephen Mulliner regainedthe trophy beating Ireland's Simon Williams -14, +17tp, +3 in a pulsatingfinal. Simon had earlier managed a narrow win over James Le Moignan, winning+3 in the third. Finely mown lawns, no watering, tight hoops, blue skies and a 25mph chillynorth-easterly wind all contributed to a distinct lack of sextuple peels, and many errors. The result was in doubt right to the end, as both Stephenand Simon failed hoops when seemingly on a winning break. The Plate was won by Jersey's Gavin Carter beating Sweden's Jonatan Andersson+19 in the final. Also noteworthy was Spain's Jose Riva who achieved his first triple peel (against me!!) and then followed up with a second on Sunday. Results from Sunday Simon Williams beat James Le Moignan +26tp, -19, +3 Final Plate Final Regards, |
