Great tournament on super fast "astroturf"

Hopes of an all England final quickly evaporated when Sinichi beat Bretherton +23 in round 1 on the super fast "astroturf". His run continued on the grass with a close +3 dispatch of holder and eleven times champion, Yamada.

In the semis Salisbury squeezed through the first of a best-of-three against Oshida +1 on time but won the second comprehensively, +25. He dropped the first in the final against Moriyama but crept through -12, +1, +5.

In the plate Yamada completed the first ever tournament triple on Japanese soil, +26tp against Nishiyama.
