15.-20.08.2011 - The Edinburgh Tournament (AC)

The Edinburgh Tournament has events catering for all standards of
Association Croquet players.
Entry forms are available directly from myself or from the Edinburgh C.C. web site.
The Edinburgh Tournament is organised annually by Edinburgh Croquet Club
and is Scotland's sole week-long association croquet event.
The tournament dates co-incide with the renowned Edinburgh International
Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival and the Edinburgh Festival
Fringe. This offers the opportunity to both play croquet and enjoy this
beautiful City at one of its most vibrant times.
To accommodate the number of events and competitors, the Club moves from
its normal location at Lauriston Castle to the grounds of Fettes College
(EH4 1QX) where fiive 90% courts are set out. Lunches and afternoon tea are
served in the adjacent cricket pavilion together with coffee, tea, beer,
wine & soft drinks, all at reasonable cost.
There are events to suit all standards of play and you can maximise your
croquet playing by entering up to three events - enter any one of events 1
to 4 plus events 5 and 6 (full details are available on the Edinburgh club
Entrants for the doubles (event 5) may nominate a playing partner if they
wish, and the tournament manager will pair up any unmatched entries.
Traditionally event 6 commences on the Monday, Tuesday sees the start of
events 1 to 4, Wednesday is doubles day and all finals are played on the
Saturday. Play is scheduled to begin at 9.30 each day.
Given suitable notice, the Tournament Manager, Fergus McInnes,will endeavour
to accommodate absences, allowing time to do some sightseeing or see
